The nurse always comes first with Allied Health
Recruitment. AHR’s founder, Farhaj Jan, formed the company in 2002, in
the belief that many agencies were offering a raw deal to both nurses
and hospitals. He has first hand experience of this from both points of
view. He arrived in the UK more than a decade ago as an immigrant nurse
from Pakistan – rejecting numerous offers of “help” from unscrupulous
nursing agencies. These rogue agencies are always ready to charge hefty
fees – even from candidates in the developing world – and the eventual
job, if it even exists, rarely lives up to expectations.
As a nurse in Britain’s NHS, he watched agencies charging hospitals
large commissions for supplying overseas nurses. All too often, these
nurses failed to live up to expectations through no fault of their own.
They had been put through a poor quality recruitment process by an
agency which knew little about nursing.
Similar problems exist today for international nurses looking to develop
their careers and increase their salaries by practicing in the USA. Many
nurses pay a heavy price for choosing the wrong agency – unwittingly
giving away more than $70,000 over a three year contract period.
AHR is part of an independent, nurse led alliance. Its partners in the
United States and the Philippines, Nurse Immigration USA and Bayani
Consulting are well established and highly respected. All senior staff
are nurses – and all share our common values and vision.
Our commitments to both nurses and hospitals are clear and simple:
We never charge fees from our nurses
We supply the best candidates with full support throughout
We always aim to offer a better overall deal than any of our competitors
